In 1972 Auto Components began
operation as a manufacturer of windshield washer pumps. ACI was acquired by Everco in 1978 and eventually became part of Moog Automotive and Cooper Industries through a series of acquisitions. Throughout the eighties ACI continued to expand it's product line and production capabilities with the addition of window lift motors and radiator fan motors. ACI was acquired in 1998 by Standard Motor Products and became a provider of both window lift motors and washer pumps. Today ACI products are marketed via the Standard Motor Products sales force.
